Crock Pot French Dip

Crock pot French Dip

·         3 ½ lb beef chuck roast
·         16oz beef broth
·         1-10.5 oz can French onion soup
·         6 oz red wine
·         1 tsp garlic powder
·         Salt and pepper to taste

·         4-6 french rolls

1.       Trim excess fat and season meat.  Pour broth, soup, wine and garlic powder in crock pot.  Put roast in liquid.
2.       Cook on low 6-8 hours.
3.       Take out the meat, cover in foil to rest 15 minutes.
4.       Slice beef, return to crock pot on low for 30 minutes.
5.       Lightly toast the rolls and place sliced beef on bread. (Some people like to melt mozzarella on the meat now – up to you. I prefer no cheese).
6.       Pour juice into ramekins to dip sandwiches.
7.       Enjoy!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE French Dip sandwiches and until now have never been able to duplicate the flavor at home without using a dip that has tons of salt.  This recipe is perfect!  Even my 3 year old, who suddenly claims to not like meat, loved them (I think it was the dip, she’s a sucker for sauces!).

  1. Oooo... yum! I need to try this! I haven't used my meat slicer much, so this will be a good recipe to use it with.

How do you like the whole blogging thing?
